Will the world end in 2012?
Nowadays, many people believe in 2012 End of the World. But is their belief the correct way of looking at all the 2012 predictions?
There has been built an enormous media hype about the year 2012, often linking it with the supposed “End of Time”, which is said to occur around December 21, 2012. All the buzz has found a fertile ground for its further expansion on the Internet a few years ago, and it doesn't seem to be diminishing - in fact, quite the opposite happens.

According to them, humanity will undergo a spiritual transformation and it's not possible that it would be 2012 End of the World... Mayan 2012 predictions promoters have found many followers and their statements are now repeated by many, who haven't even heard of them - or at least haven't read any of their books.
There is a much talk about 2012 prophecies, 2012 predictions, doomsday scenarios, the fear of natural and man-made catastrophes, or conversely, positive global changes: the evolutionary leap of humanity and its spiritual rebirth, the transformation 2012.
But there is yet much more darker side of 2012 predictions. Among the possible scenarios for the year 2012 are: destructive pole shift (it is believed that at least one pole shift happened in the past, at the time of an earlier civilization - many believe it was the mythical Atlantis which shared this terrible fate), Planet-X / Nibiru return (and a global cataclysm as a result - floods, frequent earthquakes and volcanic eruptions), killer solar flare eruption (which would take out many power grids, but also destroy wireless communication, satellites, GPS - some say that a prolonged widespread power outages alone could hurt global economy so much, it would destroy our modern civilization within a time span of few months), rare planet alignment in our Solar System (the Great Cross and its potential to cause chaos within the planetary gravitational equilibrium in the Solar System) and alignment of the plane of our Solar System with the plane of Milky Way galaxy, widespread natural catastrophes like floods and earthquakes, rise of the antichrist and even aliens/anunnaki return (the race which allegedly subdued and enslaved humans in the past). Often discussed there is also the theme of the return of Quetzalcoatl - Aztec god of light (sometimes described also as the god of rain or the "serpent king"), know as Kukulcan by Maya (the famous pyramid at Chichen Itza that you've surely seen - the one which is always shown when there is a talk about Mayan civilization - is known as Kukulcan's/Quetzalcoatl temple). It is interesting to note here that although indigenous tribes generally recognize him as a positive character (somebody who could be seen almost as a “savior”), there are also those, who depict him as a “destroyer of world”.
Should we then expect the catastrophe?
Will our world end in 2012?
Or is the positive “global transformation” soon to occur?
Which scenario is the most likely to happen - the number of answers is not that much less, than the number of researchers, so as it is with many prophetic statements, only time will tell.
Although, the more we know, the clearer is our sight, the better we can deal with possible circumstances. Besides, when we know more, some theories start looking more plausible than others, our assessments become more “on track”, most possibly increasing our chances to survive 2012 events.
We all know, that until the December 21, 2012 there isn't much time left.
Interestingly, most people concerned with survival of the humanity claim, that just researching the year 2012 subject assures this time is not wasted. This means, that whatever 2012 will bring, we will be able to say, that we have done all that we could.
